You cannot be saved by your own works, for your works are as filthy rags before the thrice holy God. You cannot be saved by your own self-will, for it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Only God can save man. Man stands in direst need of His grace in Christ Jesus, who paid a debt He did not owe, because His people owed a debt they could not pay. Has God called you effectually to trust in the finished work of Christ Jesus on the cross? Oh, sinner, do you know my Lord?
